Temple Emanu-El's Shabbat Alive! Returns
Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, invites the community to a summer installment of its acclaimed musical Shabbat Alive! service on Friday, July 15, at 6 p.m. Preceding the service will be a festive reception of wine, challah and light appetizers at 5:30 p.m.
Temple Emanu-El's quarterly Shabbat Alive! services are entirely musical, with upbeat, contemporary arrangements of the Shabbat prayers. These services regularly fill the sanctuary with worshippers and energize attendees with an exhilarating, joyful and inspiring spirit. Among the composers whose work will be performed are Debbie Friedman, Lisa Levine, Louis Lewandowski, Bonia Shur, Rick Recht, Craig Taubman and Sol Zim.
Shabbat Alive! will be led by Rabbi Brenner J. Glickman, music director and keyboardist Cynthia Roberts-Greene, and a range of professional and volunteer musicians and vocalists. For more information, call the Temple office at 371-2788.
